Cities in Finland are facing multiple, simultaneous challenges. These include sustainability and climate change, growing traffic and urbanization, social inequality and quality of life, population ageing, and the loss of biodiversity. Addressing these challenges requires high-quality Urban Living Data that is used in a systematic and impactful way. Urban Living Data provides unique insights both when identifying the most effective solutions for planning and when monitoring how these solutions work in practice.
This policy brief highlights the importance of integrating Urban Living Data more effectively into urban planning and decision-making. Our aim is to support cities in building more sustainable, equitable, and resilient futures by making better use of data generated by and about people.
